I provide comprehensive psychiatric care including new patient evalutions, consultations/second opinions, ongoing psychotherapy, tertiary care for complex cases, and medication management. The focus of my practice is on children and adolescents. My office has access to I-25 and C-470, making it an easy drive from Denver, Englewood, Greenwood Village, Littleton, Highlands Ranch, Castle Rock, and Parker.
I am contracted as an in-network provider for Tricare (Active and Retired Military) and Anthem BC/BS. I am not an in-network provider for any other panel. However, many individuals on PPO plans can receive reimbursement for out of network services if they file the itemized receipt provided at each appointment with his/her insurance company. It is also possible at times to work out a "single case agreement" with your insurance company to have treatment covered as if it were in-network if you are unable to find a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist in your network within a reasonable distance who is accepting new patients.
E-mail is utilized to assist in scheduling appointments. Clinical questions will not be addressed via e-mail. I will address clinical questions by phone or at appointments only. The voice mail is checked throughout the day and I try my best to address all clinical concerns in a timely manner, generally by the end of the business day. Calls received on weekends are returned on the following Monday, unless there is a more immediate situation, in which case I will return the call as soon as possible. I do not utilize text messaging in my practice in any circumstance.
I see patients until 5pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
I do not have weekend hours.
I typically reserve appointment times between 3-5pm for middle and high school students to minimize time missed from school. Elementary school students and patients who are seen quarterly for medication management may need to be seen during school hours.
New patients are seen between 9am and 2pm.
For extreme weather conditions that include school closures, please call 303-799-4110 to make sure that the office is open.
Periodically my practice is closed to new patients. This occurs during busy times of year when my caledar is booked out too far in advance to accommodate patients who need more urgent intervention. I am not accepting new patients at the present time. This information is kept updated on the website.
Initial evaluations are scheduled for 90 minutes in order to obtain a complete history, assess current functioning, develop a treatment plan, and discuss options, including risks and benefits of the recommended treatment. Structure of the initial evaluation depends on the age of the patient and complexity of the presenting problem. New patient appointments are always scheduled between 9am and 2pm as afterschool times are reserved for children and teens requiring ongoing treatment. The office is closed on weekends.
Psychotherapy appointments (includes medication management if applicable) are 45-50 minutes.
Comprehensive medication management follow up appointments are 20-30 minutes depending on complexity and patient stability or lack thereof.
